Last summer I got an office job in a beautiful brand new building. Every cubicle on every floor, however lovely, looked the exact same, right down to the plant on top of the filing cabinet. The building had opened right before the Covid Pandemic started and when the office closed to the public many people began working from home. I desperately missed showing a little personality in my workspace. As a joke I bought a mini canvas (4×4″) and created a very colourful piece of art to display on an equally mini easel.

Fast forward to October 2021 and I got hired permanent and got to move to a new desk. Right back to a plain new cubicle with everything matching those sitting around me. As a celebration I painted a new painting to replace the one on my desk. However, when I got to work I decided two is better than one and decided to keep them both.

This has turned into one of my favourite projects and hope one day to have more minis adorning other people’s desks as well. I like to think of them as little burst of happiness in drab office life
